From the Driver's Seat- The Pearl River at Riverbend was the setting for our August meeting with more than 30 members attending. Several new cars were introduced to our club, which was a real treat. In attendance were a 46 Ford Sedan, 46 Ford Business Coup, and a 57 Ford Convertible. You might say it was a good day for us Ford guys. The fellowship and watermelon was a good treat for our monthly event.. Our September meeting is planned on Saturday September 15th at the Agriculture Museum. This will be a full business meeting where several important topics will require decision makin for our club. One of the main issues will be the selection of the Charity to partner with our raffle car at the State Fair this year. Our plan includes putting on the tickets we sell what Charity we are supporting with our efforts. By the way the car is looking great ass SW has completed the under hood detail and as you might expect, it looks showroom new. This is the nicest car for the money I have seen recently. Mississippi State Fair Show time wil lbe here before you know it. It is a god idea to start work early at preparing automobiles for the show. This year we are targeting additional original vehicles to make our show interesting. Should you know of an intersting vehicle idea for attendance, please bring it to a board members attention and we will issue a special invitation. Members should pre register their cars early. At this writing there are already 30 cars pre-registered. If you mail your application to the club Post Office make sure you use the correct zip code. A printing error reflected the incorrect zip code on the prvious two monthly bulletins. We will have a list of paid entries at each event up to the State Fair Show that will allow verification that your entry was recieved. Thirty Years and Still Going- Why has our club withstood the test of time when so many others didn't? I don't know but here is my best guess. Members, Management, and Money. When any of these important items are in short supply, a club will struggle to survive. The AVCM is blessed with a core of talent to preserve the future. The AVCM By-Laws originally drafted by the early members quietly plays an important role in our success. Also as the old saying goes the only thing that remains exactly the same is that "Change" will happen. Important - Don't forget our September 22 Eat Out, 6:00 PM @ Byram's Swinging Bridge Fish House.
