NEXT MEETING

2:30 PM Saturday November 17, 2001

Masonic Hall - Ms. Agricultural Museum - Lakeland Dr.

Celebrating Thirty Years

From the Driver's Seat- Our next meeting on November 17, 2001 at 2:30 will be held in the Masonic Lodge at the Agriculture Museum. We have a number of important topics to discuss as well as kick off the process for election of next year's officers. Please plan to come and drive you old car if weather permits. Remember that the Agriculture Museum management has asked us not to park on the narrow streets around the Masonic Lodge. Antique cars should be parked in front of the main auditorium with others on the side.

The board met recently and discussions were held on additional fun events we may plan for next year. Possibilities include antique car tours to Vicksburg (maybe the Ameristar), Louisville, Ms (home of interesting old car museum), and Natchez (down the trace for the day).

As well as drive antique cars ourselves, it is important that we encouage the interest of non members also. By educating the public on the enjoyment of ownership and antique vehicle use, we will wncourage membership growth that will keep our club strong in the future. We need more members to join and aquire cars from the pre-60's era as the AVCM originators first drove.

This year I have been blessed with a very fun and hard working board. This year, we have met at a board meeting nearly monthly to plan future activities and club business. I could not be more fortunate. Glen Jent has been most helpful by assuming the duties as editor of the newsletter. Thanks very much for your great work Glen.

Look forward to seeing all on the 17th. Happy Motoring.

George Raworth

Have You Cruised Our Web Site Lately?

In the future, AVCM's web site could be our primary communication tool. It has been on the Internet since April, 2000 and has been hit (looked at) 1300 times. It was especially helpful in selling raffle tickets on the '66 T-Bird last year in conjunct with the Old Car Weekly ad. Bobby McClellan is the web site administrator and has done a great job getting the site running and adding enhancements.

The easiest way to use the site is to add it to your Favorites after the opening page (page after 'Please Enter...") loads on to your computer screen. Sometimes the site may take a few minutes to load depending on the speed of your computer, Internet connection, etc. This page will let you access the major areas of the web site by clicking on the boxes represented below:

Use this to check out our web site.
