From the Driver's Seat- What a busy month this has been!
Cedar Grove Mansion Show in Vicksburg Sat & Sun 4/12 & 4/13 was a huge success! We had a total of 11 cars, including our very own Parker hall's (who was putting on the show.) We saw some unique cars and the food and folks were great! During our meeting, we voted in 5 new members:
*Paul Kenedy from Jackson with a 1966 Olds Torado & 1971 Pontiac Convertible
*Jeff & Jane Kelly of Madison with a 1968 Mustang
*Harri Fitzpatrick from Crystal Springs with a 1970 Volkswagon & 1970 Buick
*Daniel & Suzanne Morgan of D'Lo with a 1966 Mustang
*Dennis & Mary Katherine Loftin of Brandon with a 1969 jaguar (welcome back Dennis and Mary Katherine)

First Baptist Church of Jackson has a "MAY Day Croquet Festival" for the senior adults may 1st. They ask us to bring some cars. Participating were Pat and Curtis Clark, Bob Richardson, John Emory, Jerry Hardin, hudosn & Melba Williams, Glen Jent, and Bob Jackman.
The cars were given top billing and enjoyed by all. They treated us to lunch & activities of the day. We had a great time!
We're excited about the Natchez Tour Jerry Hardin hasa planned for us Saturday, May 10. Let's all go & get away with ourr cars for the weekend. Okay, get those cars ready to go!!!!

1. At the First baptist Church of madison car show on March 22, aa man walked up to my '63 Thunderbird ans told me about the swivel bucket seat option offered in 1962; in fact he knew someone who owned one. I told him that was very rare indeed. How many Thunderbirds have been equipped with this option in all th eyears the make has been produced?
2. What was the first year Cadillac offered left hand drive?
3. What was the first year Caddilac offer a V-8 engine?
4. In the late forties and fifties, a popular modification was to replace the bumpers on your car with ribbed ones off of a Plymouth. Plymuth only used these ribbed bumpers for on eyear. What was the year?
5. What was the total number of Tuckers produced?
6. What was the only year that Pontiac produced a Crand PRix convertible? If you were paying atention, you'd know that I have asked this question before.
7. Pierce-Arrow produced prestigious cars between 1901 and 1938. Where were they manufactured, and what did the company produce prior to entering the automobile field?
8. Duesenbergs built between 1920 and 1937 were always marketed to the high-end customer and featured such amenities as hydrolic brakes and dual overhead cam engines. What years did Duesenberg feature a V-8?
9. What was the first year Cadillac offered a hardtop in the Eldorado series?
10. Chrysler offered a Highlander upholstry option in the late forties. What was the higlander upholstery?

Our member Sharon McGehee Castle needs old used eye glasses (or new) donated for the Lions Club. Bring your glasses to Pat Clark at the next meeting. She has already collected about 17 pair. Let's help with this worthy cause!!!

!!Dr James Stary was buried April 8th. He had two beautiful Avanti.
!!Pat Clark suffered a broken rib in January and had surgery on her hand March 27th. She continues to do well in her recovery.
!!Curtis Clark is recovering from a broken sternum. (please don't ask him how--Pat).
!!Jerry Hardin has painful shingles.
!!Jeff Kelly the new member at Vicksburg with the broken leg, underwent colon and bladder surgery May 2nd. He is recovering at his home in Madison.
!!Lori Jackman had knee surgery on May 6th & is recovering at home.
!!Glen Jent is involved in several stages of dental surgery.

Apple Bran Muffins

Ingredients; 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour; 1 tbs. baking powder; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1/2 tsp. salt; 2 1/2 cups Post Bran Flakes; 1 cup milk; 1 1/2 sticks veg. oil spread(3/4 cup); 1/2 cup sugar; 1 egg beaten; 1 cup chopped apple; 1/2 cup nut pieces.
Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in medium, size bowl and let stand 5 minutes. Beat veg. oil spread, and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Blend in cerial and egg. Add to flour mixture and stir until moistened. Stir in apple and nut pieces. Spoon batter into paper lined muffin pan -- filling each 2/3 cup full. Bake @400 degrees for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
