Annual Barbecue - Fowler's Lodge

From the Driver's Seat- Hope that everyone had a great Fourth--Also hope that all remembered what the Declaration of Independence cost our forefathers. We're free but a terrific price has been paid for the freedom we share!!
Door mat sales are going great. Sonny and Teresa Winters will have some of these good looking mats at the barbecue for you to purchase.
Please don't forget the Barbecue at Fowler Lodge on July 21st. No excuses about the heat this year; we will have an air conditioned lodge and lots more of ice tea to drink if we need more cooling off. Bill Phelps will cook the meat again this year. We need you to bring salads, vegetables, casseroles, and drinks. The Club will supply the paper goods. If you are wondering what food item to bring, call Pat Clark (825-4444) or Lori Jackman (w-961-6476 or H-919-0291) to coordinate the food.
The 2002 Fair Show is comming soon. This will be just another great time for us to share and have fun. Be making plans to help us this year. May God Bless Us All!!!

Confusing Computing
1. Compaq is considering changing the command "Press any key" to "Press Return Key" because of the flood of calls asking where "Any" key is.
2. A Dell customer called to say that he couldn't get his computer to fax anything. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting, the technician discovered the man was trying to fax a piece of paper by holding it in front of the monitor screen and hitting the "Send"key.
3. A confused caller to IBM was having trouble pinting documents. He told the technician that the computer had said it "couldn't find printer". The user had also tried turning the computer screen to face the printer but that his computer still couldn't "see" the printer.

And now for the question of the day-is your computer "Male" or "Female"? Recently, a group of computer scientists (all male) announced that computers should be reffered to as being "female" for the following reasons
1. No one but the Creator understands their internal logic
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprhensible to everyone else
3. the message"Bad command or file name" is about as informative as "If you don't know why I'm mad at you, then I certainly not going to tell you".
4. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for later retrieval.
5. As soon as you make a commitment to one you find yourself spending half you paycheck on accessories for it.
