Our membership at the end of the year totaled 156-that is a lot of family members. The car hsow at the fair was a very sucessful with more entries than past years. We had 94 vehicles. Since my computer and typing skills are limited, it has involved a lot of trial and error and experimintation. I want to thank all of you for the encouragement you have provided. A special not of order for those who have made contributions to the newsletter on a regular or periodic basis. These articles and photos are the newsletter. The biggest challenge has been trying to maintain consistency in the reproduction of photographs. All of the photos used are of acceptable quality when they go for reproduction but the copying process varies the results greatly. I am still trying different things to stablize the quality of the photos. If you have suggestions, please let me hear from you. related to this problem is the inclusion of a feature car section. This could be an excellent section of the newsletter. However, i hate to take a beautiful photo os a car and have it turn out poorly. Consequently, I will probably wait until I get the photo problem solved before resuming this feature. In my opion, the greatest improvement to the newsletter would be reproduction in color. Presently it is too exspensive; costing about six times as much as standard copying. If anyone can arrange access to a color copier at a reasonable cost (less than $.15 per page not including paper), please contact me. Additionally, having more of you contributing to the newsletter will improve it- especially short articles and photos related to antique cars. AVCM welcomed the following new members: Dewey Peets, Sr.--------Mendenhall Please join us in extending our sympathy to Robin Church whose wife, Brenda, passed on this past week and to Virginia Morris whose mother passed on. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families. Note of Thanks My thanks to all of the members who served on the phone cmmittee this past year. They were always ready to help when needed to remind the membership of upcomming events. This is an important function of the club, not only to reach those members who are frequently busy with their day to day activities and need a reminder, but to let the wives know they are included and welcomed at all our events. This is a family club, and we encourage all of you to join our planned activities when you can and to attend the meetings, as well. The members who served on this committee were: Virginia Morris, Myrla Jent, Evelyn Wood, Theresea Winters, Donna Lustig(and Lee Lustig who graciously helped many times when Donna's schedule at work demanded her time). Thank you all for your help. AVCM Satin Jackets, Golf Shirts, T-Shirts, SweatShirts & Caps are availible through Theresa & Sonny Winters (601-857-8818) (email: everwinson@aol.com).
