Meeting

Saturday-February 15th -2:30 P.M.

Masonic Lodge---Agriculture Museum

From the Driver's Seat- Well, we're off to a running start this year. We had a good club meeting last month, the first of the year. We're starting this month with the Dixie National Parade on Saturday, Feb. 8th. This is our first outing this year. The following Saturday, Feb. 15th is our meeting at the Ag Museum.
We have several committees working on prodjects and everyone is working hard. Get those cars tuned up and be ready to go because Jerry Hardin and I have a busy and fun year of touring for everyone.
The eat-out last month was great as usual. Myrla, thank you for your hard work in coordinating this every month. This is a great social time for us to get to know each other better.
Please don't forget your dues if you haven't paid them.
I hope to see you at the parade on the 8th and the meeting on the 15th.
Now, let's roll while having fun!

Pat Clark, President

BOB'S CAR TRIVIA
1. Between 1970 and 1975 French auto maker Citroen built the Citroen SM which featured a Maserati V6 engine. While all French cars are quirky, this particular car featured something no other car had ever had. What was it?
2. The BMW Isetta only had one door. Where was it located?
3. When did Rolls Royce buy Bently Motors?
4. Most of you know the AC Cobra which Carroll Shelby developed by dropping Ford engines into AC Ace-Bristol automobiles. Do you know what the letters AC stand for?
5. The enormous 1958, 1959, and 1960 Lincolns were the largest unibody cars ever built. These cars were huge, riding on 131 inch wheelbases. In addition to size to emphasize luxury, these cars also had excesses in other areas. For instance, how many ashtrays did they have?
6. Colin Chapman, a racecar driver of considerable ability, started Lotus cars in 1955. Name some of the Lotus model names that have been used over the years?
7. The original Mini Cooper was designed by Alec Issigonis and built for John Cooper by British Motor Corporation in England. The new Mini Cooper is now built by whom and where?
8. Prior to using flashers for turn signals, many European autos used what to indicate turns?
9. In 1951 Porsche introduced the 356 which preceded the famous 911. The car featured a flat four VW- based air cooled engine that developed 40 horse power. The car caught on well enough that Porsche couldn't keep up with the demand. So they turned to an outside manufacturer to hand build the bodies. Name the Manufacturer?
10. Both VW and Renault featured rear mounted, 4 cylinder engines. What was the major difference each used in the design of there motors?

TOUR TO NATCHEZ--MAY 10th & 11th

I know that it is still early during the year to make a firm commitment to an overnight tour to Natchez but I wanted to throw this out early so we can be thinking about the exciting weekend. It willnot be too hot or cool in May to cruise down the Natchez Trace in our antique vehicles. I have been talking with the reservations clerk at the Ramada Inn Hilltop overlooking the Mississippi River in Natchez and have reserved 10 rooms for May 10th & 11th. They are smoke free lower level rooms so you can pull yours right to the door. We will get the AAA rate of $72 per room for up to four people. You can dine in the hotel resturant. The breakfast buffett is $5 and the dinner buffett is $8.95. I would like for you to be thinking about this outing for I think it would be a fun trip. Reservation deadline is May 1st. The first 10 callers will get the ground level rooms. Pets are welcome. You can contact me at these numbers. Home (601) 969-0362-- cell phone (601) 331-4704.
